White Canaveral Shrimp

The mildest of Florida shrimp, they are perfect for sautéing or stir-frying. They normally spawn off brackish water estuaries and eventually make their way to deeper ocean depths (up to 70ft). They are a perfect introductory shrimp because of their mildness, firm texture and versatility. They have a grayish-white color but can always be identified by the slight bright yellow coloring on the tip of their tails. They are often caught year-round through Florida with seasonal peaks in the Fall. (Litopenaeus setiferus)
